Improvements

During my weekend away last week, I took the time to take lots of photos and used the opportunity to play with various aperture and shutter speed settings, and get all manual!

I took lots of photos of the cathedral, and enjoyed my manual successes, but got really annoyed and frustrated when it all went wrong!

My photography is definitely improving, but I have a loooong way to go.  I'm excited that I have some non-scenery opportunities to practice and experiment with coming up!

I hope your weekend has been lovely.  Mine has been another of constant laughter and ridiculousness with friends.  I don't think there's anything better (especially after a challenging work week.)

Somewhere Safe

Sometimes you just need to spend some time somewhere tranquil and peaceful.  Well sometimes I do.  For me, that place is Caerfai.  It has a great big piece of my heart and I love it dearly.  It's so beautiful.  Unfortunately my photos don't do the sea any justice; you wouldn't believe how blue it was.  Even in the rain and grey weather.

This place is stunning.

Cliffhanger

Today's blustery, wet and miserable weather reminded me of a day in October I spent wandering the moor-like cliff at Abereiddy.  There's also an amazing collection of ruins on the side of the coastline.  At one time this was a quarrying village, but it failed as North Wales had far superior slate.  I took a few moody photographs of my visit.  It's such a pretty place, whatever the weather.

time to wrap up warm and blog in bed me thinks! xoxo gwynypie

Ragged Beauty

I can be in my own head.  To the point of too much in my own head.  In a bit of a bubble I guess.  There are certain things I can do to shake this off; read a book, watch a film, listen to music etc.
Another way of achieving this is by just taking myself off to a different environment and letting the inspiration flow.
This is a picture heavy post, but I don't care.
These photos are from a recent trip, where the winds were definitely gusty, and the cold beginning to bite, but without a doubt the scenery continued to be idyllic and beautiful.
This is where I can fix my head.
As this place was such a huge part of my childhood I definitely have romanticised ideas about it, but hey ho, I think they're pretty accurate to be fair.

So much beauty.

It was an incredible feeling to be the only two people there.

It really did fix my head.  Yet again.

Where do you head off to to feel reinvigorated and inspired?
Or just to get away from your own 'head bubble?'
