Inspiration: Francoise Hardy

Looking at photos of Francoise Hardy makes me want smooth, straight hair, huge doe eyes and that chicness that comes with being a French singer in the 60s.  One can dream, eh?!

As much as I don't fulfil any of the above criteria, I'm definitely working on achieving the dream hair!

Happy Tuesday!  I've had an exhausting day.  I basically spoke for 4 hours straight (not necessarily out of choice!) in work and I had a sore throat before even beginning, so now I feel pretty rough.  Plus I don't think i've fully recovered from dancing at dawn on Saturday night.  Oh, I am getting (i.e. feeling) ooooold!  Hope you're all good though!  let me know what you think of Francoise as a beauty/fashion inspiration!xoxo

Today's Print

Here is today's (and yesterday's) print.  To be completely honest, it's a total misrepresentation of the print as I took these photos with an iphone app.  It's a really pretty bright print, with lots of accents of fuchsia and purple.  Ah well!

I just saw The Woman in Black.  Pretty disappointing to be honest.  I've seen it as a play and it was much, much better!

night lovelies! xo

Today's Print: New Feature

Hi lovelies!  I very rarely wear "plain" clothes; that is, clothes that don't have a pattern or print of some kind.  I love print and all my clothing has some sort of pretty pattern.

So, a new feature here is Today's Print, where I post a picture of the print I'm wearing that day.  Quite a simple idea, no?

So here is today's print.  A large floral pattern.  I don't usually go for larger floral patterns, but I love the shape of this dress and the print really works with that.

Happy Saturday!

If Snow Was Easier to Frolic Around In

If snow wasn't so damn impractical, and potentially dangerous, these are some of the pretty items I would wear to play around in the snow.  That is, totally not practical and utterly no fall avoidance.  But, in my dream world, I'd dress in these to play in the snow.  I don't care about inappropriate!  Did anyone say 'dreamer' or 'eccentric?'

Swedish "Please Be Mine" Hasbeens

Wow.  What a week!  I've had a week of challenges, small victories and everything in between.  But it's been super good.  I think I'm getting a taste for being challenged and pushed...it's a good thing!  This coming week is going to be similar, and with even more busyness thrown in (somehow!)  Now, before I get to sleepy...here's what I've been ogling today (whilst avoiding packing...!)

...I am in love (yes, love) with so many of Swedish Hasbeens latest styles.  This year's Spring Collection is so dreamy, and has my favourite colours.  Lots of mint and soft pink!

Take a peek below at my absolute favourites!

which is your favourite?  I've been lusting over the cream Mimmi (slingback with bow) for months and months now, and seeing it in the pink makes me want it more!  In all colours!

Love and xoxoxos, gwynypie

Style Inspiration

One of my favourite TV discoveries this year was That Girl, starring Marlo Thomas.
I love the fun and whimsical plot lines, and completely appreciate its 'ahead of its time' (I kinda hate that phrase, but oh well) modern-girl-alone-in-the-city-doing-her-thing-and-loving-it spirit.

But what draws me in the most is its most perfect aesthetic.  I want the flippy perfectly coiffed hair, the amazing 60s lashes and make and I definitely want the wardrobe.  It really is a lesson in mod style.

I have some really amazing vintage 60s pieces in my vintage collection, and hope to do some outfit posts here at some point, and when I do, I will definitely be channelling Marlo Thomas as Ann Marie.  (Also, how perfectly kitch is her name?!)
