Wonderwoolin'

Today I went to Wonderwool, which is essentially a wool festival/shopping extravaganza.  It was fun to see how huuuuge an industry and culture surrounds all things wollen and woolly.  My favourite part was meeting an alpaca I really wanted to take home with me!  He was lovely (photo below).  The friend I went with is a much better and expert knitter/crocheter than I am (by a long way!), but I have really enjoyed learning the basics, and want to improve (dramatically) this year.  I have some really pretty yarn to experiment with, so I should get moving with that.

Anyway, this event is ideal for anyone with a crafty interest in all things knitting, crochet, felting, sheepy, spinning, buttons and everything in between.  Personally, I also enjoyed the brownies and perry I purchased.  But that's just the kind of person I am.  Brownies and Ralph's perry make me happy.

Scrubadubdub

I'm pretty disorganised when it comes to gift-giving.  It's not that I don't like to give gifts, I love that, I'm just think I'm pretty rubbish at thinking of a good gift to give. 

Anyway, this year, I decided to try and make as many of my Christmas gifts as possible.

Having purchased Erin's Hand and Foot Scrub ebook, I was definitely planning on making some of the recipes as gifts.  I wasn't sure which of her recipes to use, and used them as blueprints for coming up with scrubs using what I already had at home.  In this case it included limes, lemons and peppermint and strawberry essences.  I was so excited to get going!

I added rose petals to make the strawberry mix a l'il prettier.

I've already started to gift these and I'm so excited!  My friends are a little confused when I tell them "Keep it in the fridge, and don't eat it!"  but hopefully they'll enjoy their gifts anyhow!
