Suffer For Fashion

Sometimes there are posts I just have few words for.  This is kinda one of them.

A week or so ago, I went to see of Montreal perform at Koko in Camden.  They are on of my favourite bands, and after this gig I'm even more fond of them.  It was INCREDIBLE.  Like a party.  A reeeally good party.  They didn't play all of the songs I hoped they would, but their back catalog is pretty huge to be fair, and as a band that can be quite conceptualized, it could taint the gig if they tried to 'jump' from concept to concept.

Kevin Barnes is so inspirational and I came away incredibly happy and elated.  of Montreal's just rock my world.  Since the gig I haven't stopped listening to one track (We Will Commit Wolf Murder) from their new album, Paralytic Stalks.  It's on repeat!

Below is a (quite scruffy, oops!) painting I made for a mini project I've been working on.  It's not particularly original I guess, but it's been lots of fun.  Basically, it's a collection of paintings with some of my favourite song lyrics.  The one below is a line from an of Montreal song.  I love of Montreal, they're one of absolute favourites and I think Kevin Barnes is a excellent lyricist and songwriter.  No other band makes me feel inspired quite like of Montreal does.

What inspires you?  Music, film, people...?

I like to look for inspiration in pretty much everything.  So much to learn.
