Weave Your Way

Hi lovelies!  I have a little sort of DIY.  It's very easy and somewhat obvious, so sorry for not providing anything particularly exciting or overly innovative!

Recently I've amassed a slightly ridiculous amount of headbands, all with the same design, but in an array of colours.  See below....

I absolutely love them, and clearly have one for every outfit imaginable(!) but maybe I have a weird shaped head or something, as they never sit well on my head.  Which is true of all elasticated headband type things.  I end up taking them off when I get annoyed of them slipping, or just not wearing them, which is both a shame and waste of cash!  So today, whilst trying to wear the yellow one (and using grips to try and pin it to my head) I got annoyed once again and decided I would cut the elastic off and glue the woven band to a alice band.  I have plenty of plain ones I never use (other than to keep hair off my face when in the shower or applying make-up) and thought I'd put them to a better use!

See supplies below (although I've just realised my scissors and glue gun aren't in the picture, so as opposed to being a 'supplies' photo it's more of a 'stuff I'm going to cut and glue together' photo.  Bear with me)...

I started off by snipping the elastic bottom parts off the band completely.

Then I pretty much just started gluing!  Both the original and the plain bands must be pretty standard in size (which confirms I do not have a standard head) as they seemed to be the same in length and fit.
I glued at each end of the band, and also at the (slightly off-centre) larger woven part.  I'm hoping this is enough hold.  As it's a woven design, I think trying to glue the whole thing down may be a bit of a hoo-ha.

As you can see, the fit is pretty spot on.  They all ended up like this.

Here's a closer look at the inside.  Basically it's glued along the centre of the big weave part.

Here's the end result!  Pretty and wearable satiny headbands!  I'm really pleased!

Turns out I have 7.  One for every day of the week?!

A little late night DIY

I was perusing ebay for a 'cute iphone cover' and everything that came up was a litte....well...uncute.  So I decided to pretty up my covers with some stuff I already had.  In keeping with my bow obsession I bought a few bow hair bobbles from H&M recently, and decided to cut them up and attach them to my phone covers.
I tried with my hot glue gun first but it wasn't sticking to the silicone, so went for gold old fashioned super glue.  Will see how they hold out!

Aren't they the cutest?!
