Parc Guell is a feast for the eyes. It's just a fact. A full on Gaudi 'must-see.' This is the place to visit if you're in Barcelona and you want to a) not queue for hours (or at all) for a piece of Gaudi, b) get a little further out of the 'centre' of Barcelona and see a different sort of neighbourhood c) see the most spectacular views of the city that will take your breath away (the incline to get to those views may do that to your breath too, mind). However, this is not the place to come if you a) need the toilet (without a doubt, this was the most disgusting toilet I've ever had the horror of using, sorry for the TMI) and b) want to avoid any sort of incline walking.
Don't get me wrong, I really loved it here, and would want to visit again in a shot. I guess it was slightly tainted by a lot of people trying to sell cheap tat and souvenirs as you wander around this beautiful part of the world. I guess it takes away from the fact that it's a UNESCO World Heritage Site when someone's trying to palm off a wonky magnet on you. But the experience is that spectacular that you soon get over those tainting elements.
One of the very few shots without any people in it! Success! (It was sooo busy)
So many details!
All the mosaic details were so pretty!
This band were really cool. Their music echoed all around the park
Barcelona...as far as the eye can see
From here I really grasped just how big La Sagrada Familia is, when you think this is a view of the whole city!
You could literally see everything from the top
Anyone know what this writing means? I'm guessing it's a political statement...
