Town of Books

Road trip time!  Destination:  Hay on Wye aka Town of Books aka lovely old lady day out town.  The bestie and I headed across the Brecon Beacons (which were covered in snow!  eeeek!) towards Powys (spotting new lambs bouncing and dancing along the way) so that we could get to the Town of Books; Hay on Wye.  I really like it there.  You end up getting a sore neck when you visit, as you're constantly tilting your head to look at book titles!  Despite the thooooousands of books available, I actually ended up bringing home a vintage formica kitchen cabinet.  I rock!  (It is beautiful, mind).

I snapped some photos along the way (snowy mountain photos taken by the bestie) and I definitely haven't captured just how special and unique Hay is.  Sorry!

It was really good to have a mini road trip  and an old lady day.  I had a lot of fun, and a change of scenery is generally a good thing, no?!

I adore driving through the Beacons.  It's one of those places that is just beautiful in ALL weather.  I love it when there's blazing sun, thunderous storms, delicate snow or blustery winds.  It's a very special place.

 SNOW!

I love this attitude!

The murder and mayhem book store!  Lucky Miss Marple!
